FAQs

Our most frequently asked questions and answers.

Do I need a property appraisal?

Many believe that a professional property appraisal is only required when you are applying for a loan with a bank or lender. You can also use an appraisal to help obtain a loan to purchase or refinance, to help determine your value, for insurance purposes, planning or settling an estate, or even to protect you or your business assets in a legal case (divorce, etc.).

Do I need to go to court for my property tax appeal?

No, you don't need to go to court! HAR III handles your entire appeal process from start to finish. including filing important documents and evidence to support the case to reduce your property taxes. We appear in court on your behalf and handle everything. Our expert knowledge of the tax laws in your county ensure that when HAR III takes on your property tax appeal, we are going to get a fair and accurate value.

I just received my Notice of Assessment, what next?

You have 45 days in GA and 25 days in FL from the date printed on your "Notice of Assessment" to appeal your property taxes if you don't think your tax bill represents the fair market value of your residential or commercial property.

When will I have a hearing?

The Board schedules cases, or hearings, on a first come first served basis in nearly all cases. The amount of hearings from other property owners ahead of you can be difficult to determine. We recommend discussing tax appeals as soon as possible, so that your case can be brought to hearing ASAP.
